Leave a lasting legacy for future generations to learn and experience the natural world by becoming a member of the White Pine Society…

Recognizing the White Pine

Whether they tower majestically above the forest canopy or humbly fill in understory gaps, white pines are valuable citizens of the Northwoods. Deep, spreading roots that hold the soil in place, plus insulating bark and clean trunk, make white pine forests resistant to fire and disturbance. When disaster occurs, white pines are often the pioneers that provide critical stability. Throughout their lives and beyond white pines provide food, shelter, protection, and habitat to a wide circle of living things.

From exploration to logging, to settlement, and finally conservation; on some level, they are the reason we are all here.

To the Museum, the White Pine Society is the strong and stable community which ensures that the Museum is financially resilient into the future…
