Venture outside on the grounds of the Museum and draw close-ups of the natural world that beckons you. We’ll also explore a variety of the Museum’s fascinating collections, such as animals, birds and insects. There will be a guest appearance by Aldo, an American Kestrel who we’ll sketch quickly, using gesture drawing. During class, Museum Naturalist/Curator Elsa Hansen will talk about scientific illustration and its uses. Diana Randolph will demonstrate various black & white drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal pencil and ink in the morning. In the afternoon, Diana will demonstrate color techniques using color pencil, and watercolor pencil. Meet at the Museum from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. You may bring a sack lunch or lunch may be ordered in class from the Brick House Cafe. Register by September 16. A supply list will be mailed or emailed to those who register.
