Lois Nestel, the Museum’s founding director and naturalist, was a talented artist, and her botanical illustrations are a valued part of our collections. In honor of her and the Museum’s 50th Birthday, we’re offering a chance to follow in her footsteps. Local artist Janet Moore will use the Museum’s wonderful flower gardens to teach the techniques and talk about the many benefits of drawing plants. Through guided exercises and individual instruction, students of all abilities will learn and practice observing and drawing accurately with pencil and painting in watercolors to bring plants to life. Meet from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cable Natural History Museum. Participants may bring a sack lunch, or lunch may be ordered from the Brick House Café. Registration required online at www.cablemuseum.org or call 715-798-3890 by September 8. $45 member/$50 non-member.
